Net Zero policies risk environmental harm by offshoring industry to more polluting economies. We work to restore energy abundance through free markets, North Sea investment, and sovereign resource strategy.

A sovereign energy strategy has been missing for years, in a race to achieve a strategically incoherent Net Zero policy that neglects our national resources. A sound energy strategy is central to unlocking growth while achieving national resilience and security.

It’s become apparent that the UK’s obsession with Net Zero is causing not just real harm to the British public and British businesses, its stunting real economic recovery and growth whilst directly aiding and fuelling the People’s Republic of China. This must now end.

Renewables have an important part to play – we do not favour any energy resource per se. British energy prices are among the highest in the world, leading to de-industrialisation and needless impoverishment, playing into the hands of our adversaries. Sovereign energy strategy can drive growth, genuinely protect the environment, and help defend national security.

As part of 878’s energy work, our planning for future energy policy is underway. This includes:

  • Analysis of the legacy of EU policies, regulations and plans.
  • Fast-tracking North Sea energy resources.
  • Protecting the natural environment.
  • Urgently reducing energy prices for households and business.
